The Utah Museum of Contemporary Art Presents
Art Truck Recognized as best educational program in the State of Utah, the UMOCA Art Truck brings exciting and accessible contemporary art, created by leading local and national artists, directly to schools and community venues along the Wasatch Front. Each on-site visit by the Art Truck includes the services of a trained museum educator who leads students through a meaningful exploration of the current exhibition, as well as structured lesson plans for teachers who want to incorporate the Art Truck more deeply into the core curriculum.
Art Truck 2012-13: Carlos Rosales-Silva UMOCA is happy to present a new art truck installation by Carlos Rosales-Silva! Rosales-Silva is a contemporary artist from Austin, TX whose paintings, photos, sculptures and drawings investigate themes of borders, diversity, and identity. Of his practice, Rosales-Silva says, “As a descendant of a Mexican mother and a Native American father it was interesting, shocking, enlightening, and sometimes heartbreaking to learn about my cultural history in varying forms.” In fact, amplified tales of cowboys and Indians, pop cultural stereotypes of Mexicans, oral family history and personal experience all funnel into Rosales-Silva’s work which he revises, alters, critiques and explores. Schedule your Art Truck visit today to see this amazing artist!

Experience Art -
The goal of the Riverton Art Festival is support art
education and have a positive impact on our community. The Riverton Art Festival is a forum for
introducing established artists, new/upcoming artists, and their work to the
youth of the community. In
conjunction with the efforts on our performance stage, the festival creates an
atmosphere that invites creative interaction between artists and their
patrons. This encounter provokes deeper
thought, a better understanding of art, and the importance it plays in our lives. By presenting the visual and performing arts
simultaneously, our event provides children and adults an opportunity to learn,
be educated, and appreciate art through very emotional and expressive mediums.
Great family experience -
The Festival creates and atmosphere that provides creative
interaction between artists and performers. These interactions provoke a deeper
understanding of the arts and the unique role they can play in the individual’s
life. The Riverton Arts festival provides the community the opportunity to
perceive and think in new ways. To not
only see the community as it is but what it can be.
The Riverton Arts Festival is a family friendly event. The festival exposes everyone who attends to a plethora of art forms including: bands, dancers, handmade soaps, hand painted pictures, woven metal made into bracelets, and a variety of other artwork. Quality art should be free for everyone to view and appreciate. Our festival offers free hands on art experiences for all ages. Children have the opportunity to experience the creative process first hand in the Art Park. This interactive experience helps to promote the arts in a fun and educational way. Experiencing the arts first hand helps create an appreciation that will last a lifetime.
